When making my contents page i kept the same colour palette as my front cover so that they link and fit in with the theme of summer. I tried my colours in different places, for example i tried the title in pink and blue before deciding it would look best in yellow, i chose this so that it stands out as it is something i want my reader to look at first. I chose to put these images on the page so that it is obvious that the school is for both girls and boys as the front cover only has a male on it so it could confuse the reader into thinking the school was for boys. I kept my font as 'david' on this page aswell as the front cover as i like it and didnt think it would look good to change the font on this page as it might make it look as if it doesnt belong with the front cover. In my magazine i show that it is a multicultural school as i use models of different races and religions. I am happy with my contents page as i think it is attractive and would appeal to a sixth form audience and also it fits its purpose of informing the reader of which article is on what page.

This is my final front cover, i chose to have the title in the font 'david' which i have had as my font for all of my text so that it doesnt clash on the page, my title is bright yellow with a black outline so that it stands out against the other colours on the page, i also chose yellow because it links to the theme of summer because it is the colour of the sun. I decided to use the schools motto as my sub heading because it represents the school and what it stands for, i think my page looked better with it under the title because it makes the page look more full and interesting. I kept my colour pallete to a bright yellow, pale pink and duck egg blue because i thought these three colours would suit the summer theme and look good together, i played around with what colours to put where so that the parts of the page that need to stand out the most have the brighter more noticible colour and the parts you dont need to notice as much are in the paler colours, for example the title is bright and yellow. My image on the front is of Joel, a boy in my sixth form, he is dressed smart so that it is a good representation of what the school expects of their students. As it is a summer edition i have made sure that the sun is in the photo and luckily it is actually partly on joel, which i think looks good. I have included the date and a barcode like a normal magazine would but i have kept it plain and simple so that it doesn't take your attention away from the main parts of the magazine, e.g. the title and background image. I tried to add a graphic of flowers or the sun but it didnt look right as i thought it made the page look tacky. I think this is successful as it looks quite like a magazine and fits its purpose, if i was to do this again i would try to find a way to put more on the page, i think it is quite plain but then again it still is effective because of the colour.

I have put these three images on my contents page because they are all different, for example one if of a boy, one is of a girl and one is of a girl and a girl so it shows that the school is for both genders clearly. These images are on this page to make it more interesting and give a better appearance, The first image shows someone working, the second shows someone happy and not working and the last shows someone helping someone else so it shows the students have a healthy balance between school work, social lifes and helping others.

I chose to include this image in my magazine because it makes the school look like it has a warm, friendly environment as the boy is helping the girl with her school work. In my magazine i have used people of different race so that it shows that the school is multicultural.

I will put this picture on my contents page as one of the three images on the right hand side of the page. This photo is significant because i wanted to illustrate that the school is targeted towards both genders as my other images are of a male. I chose her to wear this because it gives an example of what is expected of sixth form students uniform at beaverwood. Also the vibrant colours in her clothes reflects her mood which is happy at beaverwood.

This is my front cover with my image on it, i chose joel because i wanted to show that the school is both for girls and boys, the colours i used for the magazine are quite girly being pink, yellow and baby blue, so it could confuse the reader into thinking it was just for girls. I chose Joel to wear his navy stripey jumper because i wanted it to go with the front door and i didnt want too many colours in the image incase it clashed with the colour theme of my magazine. His clothes are smart and appropriate sixth form wear so this gives a good example to other sixthformers, also he is smiling so gives the impression the school is a happy and friendly environment. As the magazine is a summer edition i have made sure the light is shining on joel, because there is a plant infront of the sun shining on him it gives a shadow on him which is good because it stops the brightness being too much. you can also see the schools reception plaque so this connotes that it could be the front of the school. I like that you can see leaves on the right hand side, it add colour to the picture and also links to the theme of summer.

I have made the title bolder by increasing the thickness of the outline of the text and keeping it black to contrast against the yellow. This makes the title more effective and eye catching.

I added the same subheading from my front cover to this page because i think it makes the page look better and fills the gap under the title and the boxes of text and images underneath. i have made the text white with a black outline because i dont want to over use pink, blue or yellow.
